{"id":168,"date":"2010-01-11T17:57:34","date_gmt":"2010-01-11T16:57:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.andrewj.com\/blog\/index.php\/2010\/my-tenset\/"},"modified":"2020-04-29T08:49:49","modified_gmt":"2020-04-29T07:49:49","slug":"my-tenset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.andrewj.com\/blog\/2010\/my-tenset\/","title":{"rendered":"My &#8220;Tenset&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/theonlinephotographer.typepad.com\/the_online_photographer\/2009\/12\/the-tenset.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recent post<\/a> by Mike Johnston on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theonlinephotographer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Online Photographer<\/a> decried the frequent difficulty of quickly reviewing an online photo collection to understand the photographer&#8217;s interests and style, in order to decide whether to invest more time in studying the content in greater detail.<\/p>\n<p>Mike&#8217;s solution to this is to suggest that each photographer&#8217;s website should start with &#8220;A photographer&#8217;s ten best, or ten favourite, or ten most characteristic pictures, up front.&#8221; He gives this concept the excellent name of the <em>tenset<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Suitably chastened and inspired, I&#8217;ve taken this suggestion to heart, and my website now contains <a href=\"\/album\/- My Tenset\/index.html\">my very own &#8220;Tenset&#8221;<\/a>, as the first grouping on my gallery page.
